This policy describes how the Emergency Burrito Finder mobile application (“Emergency Burrito Finder,” “the app”) handles information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad. Emergency Burrito Finder is designed to work without an account. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.
Emergency Burrito Finder is provided by Los Palmos LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“Los Palmos,” “we,” “us”). For questions about this policy, contact us at admin@lospalmos.org.
The app uses your device’s approximate location, with your permission and only while you are using the app, to find burrito places near you. Apple MapKit is the only outside service the app uses. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use your location to build an advertising profile, and we do not operate any servers that receive your location or searches. The app stores no data on your device.
Location. If you allow location access, the app uses your device’s approximate location (accurate to about 100 meters), only while you are using the app. The app reads your location once each time it runs a search and never accesses your location in the background.
Nearby place search. To find nearby burrito places, the app uses Apple’s MapKit services. Searches are always centered on your location and use fixed search terms; you do not type search terms into the app. The only information the app sends to Apple for a search is your approximate location.
Travel times. When search results load, the app automatically sends your approximate location to Apple MapKit to calculate travel times to the places found.
Apple’s handling of these MapKit requests is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Directions and calls. If you choose to get directions or call a place, the app hands the request off to Apple Maps or the Phone app, which handle it under Apple’s policies.
On-device data. The app does not store any data on your device: no search history, favorites, saved places, or location history.
If you do not grant location permission, the app cannot search for places. Instead it shows a “Location required” screen with an Open Settings button so you can turn on location access in iOS Settings.
Emergency Burrito Finder does not include any third-party libraries, analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs, and does not engage in cross-app tracking. If that changes in a future update, we will update this policy and, where required, the App Store privacy details.
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the MapKit requests to Apple described above, the app does not send your location or any other information to us or to any other third party.
Your use of Emergency Burrito Finder is also subject to Apple’s terms and policies for the App Store and iOS/iPadOS. Apple may process certain technical or usage information in accordance with its own policies, which are outside our control.
We do not receive or retain your location or searches, and the app stores nothing on your device. MapKit requests handled by Apple are retained under Apple’s policies.
Emergency Burrito Finder is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we should address a specific concern, contact us using the information below.
If you use the app outside your home country, your information may be processed on your device and by service providers (such as Apple) in accordance with their policies and applicable law.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
